Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information Trade Journal Desk collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
Account information: your name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash, never in plain text).
Trade data: everything you choose to log — symbols, entries, exits, quantities, strategies, notes, mistakes, and emotions tied to each trade.
Screenshots: any trade-chart images you upload, stored on our server and linked to the relevant trade.
Billing information: if you subscribe, Razorpay processes your payment details directly — we never see or store your card or UPI details ourselves. We do keep a record of the transaction (amount, date, subscription status) for billing history.
Telegram details: if you connect Telegram, we store your Telegram chat ID and username so we know where to send your summaries. We don't access any other data from your Telegram account.
Usage data: basic technical information like IP address and browser type, mainly for security (e.g. detecting suspicious login attempts) and troubleshooting.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide the Service — storing your trades, generating analytics, rendering your calendar, and sending Telegram summaries;
- To verify your account (email OTP) and secure it (login lockouts after repeated failed attempts);
- To process subscription payments and manage billing;
- To respond to support requests you send us;
- To detect and prevent abuse of the Service.
We do not sell your data to advertisers, and we do not use your trade data to train third-party AI models.
3. Third-Party Services We Use
- Razorpay — payment processing for subscriptions. Subject to Razorpay's own privacy policy.
- Telegram — optional trade summary delivery, only if you choose to connect it.
- Email delivery — for account verification and password reset emails.
4. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on our servers with industry-standard safeguards — passwords are hashed, not stored in plain text; sessions expire automatically; login attempts are rate-limited. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account and trade data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we'll remove your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we're required to retain records (for example, billing records) for legal or accounting purposes.
6. Cookies
We use a session cookie to keep you logged in. We don't use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
7. Your Rights
You can access, correct, or delete your account information at any time from your Profile page, or by contacting us directly. You can also disconnect Telegram at any time, which stops all summary messages.
8. Children's Privacy
The Service isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
